How to Create Certification Types

To begin, navigate to the account settings and select the Workforce Settings tab.

Note: Only admins can create and manage certification types in the account settings.

Next, click "Add Certification Type."

Here, you can input the Name & Abbreviation for the certification in the indicated fields. You will also be prompted to select the expiration settings on the certification. Make your selection, and click "Create."

The new Certification Type will then populate in the list indicated below. To make edits to the certification, simply click the "Pencil" icon and save your changes. To delete, click the "Trash Can" icon.

Adding Certifications to Employees

Once your certification types are entered in the account settings, you can begin adding these certifications to Employee profiles.

First, navigate to the Employees tab.

Click into the employee profile and select "Add Certification" under Certifications.

Here, you will be prompted to select the Certification Type from the drop-down menu. If applicable, select the expiration date. You also have the option to upload a file of the certification under Attachment. Finally, click "Save."

The certification(s) will then populate in the employee's profile. To edit, update, or remove a certification, simply click the three dots indicated below and make your selection:

Filtering Assignments by Certifications

Buildr gives you the capability to filter your assignments by Certification. You can utilize your filters to identify any employees who are qualified for a job when a certification is required.

In the assignment modal, click the Certifications drop-down menu and checkmark the necessary certifications.

Buildr will automatically filter your employee list to qualified candidates, enabling you to assign jobs seamlessly.

Expired Certification Notifications

Buildr will send all admin account users a notification email when an employee's certification is nearing its expiration date. Email notifications will be sent on the following days:

  • 90 days before the certification expiration date

  • On the day of expiration

To update an expired certification, simply navigate to the employee's profile and click "Edit" on the expiring certification.

Next, select the new expiration date, upload the updated certification under Attachment, and save your changes.
