The Employee Bench is a valuable feature for identifying employees with large gaps in availability. This tool enables your team to optimize your workforce allocation and ensure that all of your employees are being utilized.

In this bench view, you will see:

  • Employee Name

  • Division

  • Role

  • Dates (Dates measuring the period of 0% utilization)

  • Duration Remaining (Total # of available days indicated in the Dates column)

To begin, navigate to your Workforce Dashboard and select the Bench tab.

At the top of the page, you can customize your desired dates under “Date Range.”

Once your dates are selected, Buildr will automatically list any employees with 30+ day periods of 0% utilization within the selected date range. The employee bench is ordered by date, allowing your team to view and readily address any upcoming gaps in availability.

If an employee has multiple periods of 0% utilization within the selected date range, then you will see the employee listed for each period of availability.

Let’s take a look at an example. In the date range we’ve selected below, our employee, Miguel Brakus, is listed twice on the Employee Bench. This means that Miguel has two, 30+ day periods of 0% utilization on his utilization chart.

In the "Dates" column, we see that the first period of availability begins on 02/20/2024 and ends on 04/12/2024. The "Duration Remaining" value of 52 days is simply the summation of available days indicated in the "Dates" column.

Note: If the start date is before the current date, then the Duration Remaining value will simply calculate the remaining days starting from today’s date.

The second period of Miguel's availability begins on 11/14/2024 and continues through 04/09/2027 for a total of 876 days. Now that these gaps of availability are highlighted, your team can assign Miguel to upcoming or active projects accordingly.
